Setting up Stocktakes Based on Product Category

If you select to count stock based on product category, you need to set the stocktake frequency on each category.

1. Select FILE | PRODUCT CATEGORY.
2. Select a category code.
3. Select the required frequency in the Stocktake Frequency field on the Category tab.

You can select from the following:

• 12 Times a Year - monthly
• 6 Times a Year - every two months
• 4 Times a Year - quarterly
• 2 Times a Year - half-yearly
• 1 Time a Year- annually.

Note that you can set different frequencies on different product categories.

Technical Tip There is currently no option to set the category stocktake frequency to None.

Remember that the product category needs to be set on each item.

Now you need to make sure that the stock selection method is also set on each item - refer to "Setting up the Stock Selection Method".
